Privacy & AI disclosure

This is a private, invite-only closed beta of an AI career coach. This page explains what the system is, how your information is used, and the rights you have.

You are interacting with an AI system

The coach is an AI system, not a person (EU AI Act Article 50). Everything it writes is generated by software, with oversight from a registered South African psychologist. It does not diagnose mental-health conditions, replace therapy, or give medical, financial, or legal advice.

This is a real-world test (closed beta)

You are taking part in a private, invite-only test of this system under EU AI Act Article 61. What you share is processed to provide coaching and to evaluate and improve the system during the test. Taking part is voluntary, you can stop at any time, and no automated decision here has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

What we process, and why

To provide coaching we process the messages and assessment answers you submit, and a banded summary of your career interests. Conversations are encrypted at rest and in transit. We never share your conversation with another member. Personal identifiers in what you type and in any document you upload are automatically masked before they reach our audit records. Lawful basis: your consent (POPIA s11, GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

Under 18

Members aged 14–17 may take part only through a parent or guardian's managed registration: the guardian registers the minor from their own verified account, and their consent is recorded before any access exists (POPIA s35). Self-redemption of an invite code is for adults (18+) only; without a guardian-managed registration, an under-18 is not granted access.

Your rights

To exercise any of these, ask the coach or contact the beta team. Data export and erasure are served by the system's GDPR endpoints.

When a human gets involved

If the coach detects that you may be at risk, it escalates to a registered psychologist on the support team and tells you this is happening.
